On 27-28 December an all-Russian scientific-practical conference «Philosophical and Spiritual-Historical Foundations of Russian Statehood» was held at Kuban State University as part of the project «DNA of Russia» (Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia), which was developed by the Expert-Methodical Council of the State Council Commission «Science» of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education in accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation to improve the quality of social science education.
Kuban State University was one of the higher educational institutions supported by the grant of the Expert Institute of Social Research (EISR) and on the basis of the Department of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies of FISMO it is developing the project of the state task «Philosophical and Historical Foundations of Russian Statehood: Values and meaningful practices of the Russian Empire in the 17th-19th centuries», which will be carried out with the participation of researchers under 39 years of age, including undergraduates, specialists, graduates and postgraduates.
The scientific basis of the project will be integrated into the content of the pedagogical and methodological complex of the Basics of Russian Statehood discipline as a single goal of the entire DNA of Russia project.
The All-Russian scientific and practical conference, which was held within the framework of the overall systematic work, included plenary sessions, a round table, a lecture, work in sections and thematic excursions to Kuban State University.
The conference was attended by representatives of universities from many regions and cities of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Sochi, Maykop, Kazan, Makhachkala, Saratov, Kirov, Vladikavkaz, Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Simferopol, Donetsk, Lugansk, Volgograd, Veliky Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Glazov, Saransk and Chelyabinsk.
The two days of the conference were divided into four sections: «Classical Philosophy and Spiritual Foundations of Russian Statehood: History and Modernity», «Russian Statehood as a Phenomenon of World History and Culture», «Aesthetic, Religious and Political and Legal Values of Russian Civilisation», «Spiritual Foundations of Russia and the Russian World: Historical Experience and Modernity».
Also during the conference a working meeting was held between the Rector of Kuban State University M.B. Astapov and the Rector of Dagestan Institute of Humanities N.D. Bakhmudkadiev: the parties talked about the activities of their institutions and the peculiarities of educational, scientific and training processes, the main of which was the consideration of training in «Theology». A working meeting was held between the Rector of Kuban State University M.B. Astapov and the heads of the Programme and Organising Committees of the conference. During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the prospects of the project programme and agreed on further cooperation.
