Krasnodar and Kuban Territory

Kuban State University is located in the Krasnodar Region, a rapidly developing region in Russia.

Situated in Russia’s south-west, covering an area of about 76 thousand square km, this region is the third largest region in the Russian Federation in terms of population, being home to over five million people and comprising 120 nationalities.

The unique natural and climatic conditions of the region made it possible to host the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi.

The leading sectors of the Krasnodar Region’s economy are agriculture and forestry, mechanical engineering, woodworking, construction materials manufacturing, fuel and energy, transport, resort and recreational complexes. Kuban State University, the largest scientific and educational complex in the region, trains highly qualified specialists in almost all fields of science to serve the Krasnodar Region.
