NAUKA 0+

One of the major projects of the Kuban State University of Science and Technology is the NAUKA 0+ All-Russia Festival of Science, as well as the regional NAUKA 0+ Kuban Festival of Science. The aim of the festival is to tell the public in an accessible and understandable language what science is, what scientists do, how scientific research improves the quality of life and what prospects it opens for modern man.

In 2022, the theme of NAUKA Festival 0+ will be «Creating the future: how basic research contributes to the sustainable development of the planet». From 17 to 21 October, participants were offered a full programme of events, with each day dedicated to a different scientific block. A total of five themes were chosen, within which students and schoolchildren enjoyed not only classical lectures and master classes, science exhibitions and stations with experiments, excursions to science laboratories and museums, intellectual quests and foresight sessions.

YOUTH SCIENCE WEEK

The trademark of the Student Scientific Society is the Youth Science Week at Kuban State University, where the task of the SSS is not only to form the scientific outlook and world view of students, but also to show that science is always interesting and fascinating, for everyone and about everyone!

Members of SSS of all structural divisions actively participate in the organisation of events, attract interesting lecturers and create unusual scientific-educational, research and scientific-intellectual formats of meetings.

Traditionally, each faculty organises a scientific conference as part of the Youth Science Week, which is a great opportunity for students to present the results of their scientific work. And for those who are still at the beginning of their journey, it is an opportunity to attend conferences not only in their field of study, but also in other fields, broadening their horizons of scientific knowledge.

FANK Festival of Contemporary Science Films

Every year the SSS of Kuban State University organises film screenings as part of the All-Russian Festival of Contemporary Science Films. FANK is a scientific and educational project aimed at telling and showing the past achievements and discoveries of scientists, current trends and problems of society, as well as the prospects of scientific knowledge and human history. For each screening, we invite an expert from the university faculty who specialises in the subject of the film.

After the screening, the participants discuss the film and share their impressions by asking questions to the invited expert. In this way, FANK is a new format for the festival, combining science and technology documentaries, lectures and discussions.
