On April 28, the conference took place at K. Karasaev Bishkek State University, dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language as the Language of Intercultural Communication in the CIS. The event was organized by K. Karasaev Bishkek State University and Kuban State University, with support from the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The conference aimed to comprehensively discuss issues related to the status and functioning of the Russian language as a language of science and education, as well as its prospects for development in the CIS. The topics discussed included the current functioning and scientific study of the Russian language in the context of digital transformation, problems in Russian literary studies, traditions and innovations in teaching the Russian language and literature, and the present and future of comparative linguistics.
Distinguished guests at the conference included the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Nikolay Udovichenko, the Rector of Kuban State University, Mikhail Astapov, and the Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic, Albert Zulkharneev.
The conference brought together scientists, teachers, educators, employees of educational institutions, heads of additional professional education institutions, doctoral students, postgraduates, graduate students, and representatives of international and public organizations from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, and other countries. More than a hundred speakers participated in the conference.
The participants praised the high level of organization of the event and emphasized the importance of regular conferences focusing on the functionality of the Russian language in CIS countries.
The conference was conducted in a blended format, and a resolution was adopted at its conclusion. Certificates were issued to all participants, and the conference materials will be published in the collection «BSU Bulletin» with an assigned ISBN and included in the RINC database.
