Students from China went on the mountain hike

The last warm days of November will be remembered like mountains, nature, fresh air and mineral water by Chinese students from Harbin Normal University. The group of ten students, who came to study under the academic mobility programme, and two employees of the Department of international relations of Kuban State University went on a Saturday trip to Goryachiy Klyuch, a resort town in Krasnodar region. Goryachiy Klyuch is also called a small Switzerland for its pristine nature, mountains and abundance of springs with mineral water.

The city overview began with the main attraction, which is Rock Petuschok, named so for its characteristic stone crest and beak. After learning about the history of the rock and associated numerous legends, students went to conquer the top along the “tropa zdorovya”, which originates in the “Dantovo Ushchel’ye” and stretches for several kilometres through the picturesque autumn forest.

The “Mineralnya Polyana”, with the pump-room for tasting medicinal water located on it, is the second attraction and the visiting card of the city. Each student was able to find a spring that suited his taste and learn more about the useful properties of mineral water.

The end of the programme was a walk along the Thousand Pines Alley, leading to a pond with turtles. The students watched the leisurely movements of the reptiles in fascination and thought up a name for each of them in Chinese. According to the guests from China, it was an impressive trip.
