
On 7 February, the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Interdisciplinary Aspects of Linguistic Studies’ organised by the Department of English Philology was held at Kuban State University, Faculty of Romano-Germanic Philology. The guests of honour were representatives of Minsk State Linguistic University (Republic of Belarus), L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (Republic of Kazakhstan), Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University (Republic of Kazakhstan), Pyatigorsk State University (Pyatigorsk), Rostov State University of Economics (Rostov).
The palette of papers was extremely diverse and covered research in discourse, cognitive linguistics, cognitive semantics, corpus linguistics, gender linguistics and neology. It also touched upon the prospects for linguistic research in the context of large language models and artificial intelligence. Following the results of the scientific event, the vectors of further partnership co-operation with colleagues from Minsk, Astana, Kostanay, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Pyatigorsk were outlined.
