On 18 March in Kuban State University held a conference of employees and students to elect the rector of the university. A total of 520 people were nominated as delegates to the conference from the structural units, 491 of which were accepted.
Mikhail Borisovich Astapov was elected Rector of Kuban State University by the majority of votes (447 out of 491 – 91,2%).
The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Region Yuri Burlachko handed the Acting Rector of Kuban State University Mikhail Astapov a Certificate of Honour and a sign of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The award signed by the Chairman of the Federation Council V.I.
