International Conference «Language, Society, Culture» Held at KubSU

On April 14, Kuban State University hosted the annual International Scientific and Practical Philological Conference «Language, Society, Culture.»

Participants included students, undergraduates, and faculty from the Department of Modern Greek Philology of KubSU, as well as guests from V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece).

Welcoming speeches were delivered by Galina Redko (Head of the Department of Modern Greek Philology, KubSU), Tatiana Borisova (Head of the Department of Russian Philology and Slavic Studies, University of Athens), and Evgeniia Rotai (Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department).

The plenary session covered a wide range of topics: artificial intelligence from antiquity to the present, linguistic studies of works by Chekhov, Tolstoy, Kafka, and Greek authors, Latin borrowings in Greek, and teaching methods for foreign languages.

KubSU and the University of Athens regularly hold joint online meetings, conferences, and cultural events. An online conference dedicated to the great writers of Greece and Russia is planned for May.
