From 27 to 29 March, a delegation from the Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute (KIEI) — a partner university of Kuban State University — visited our university. The delegation included representatives from various departments of the institute: Imomnazar Tursonov — Professor of the Department of Business and Innovation Management of the Faculty of Economics and Chief Specialist of the Department of International Cooperation; Neymatulla Shamsiddinov — Director of the Technopark «Mukhnisa» at the Karshi Engineering and Economic Institute; and Dilshod Karimov — PhD student of the Department of Business and Innovation Management.
On the part of Kuban State University, the guests were welcomed by Igor Shevchenko — Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Victor Sidorov — Head of the Department of Theoretical Economics, Vladimir Gulenko — Professor of the Department of Geophysical Prospecting and Exploration Methods, Galina Govorova — Director of the International Affairs Department, and Irina Rayushkina — Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department.
During the meeting, which was dedicated to the development of cooperation between the partner universities in 2023-2024, special attention was paid to the development and implementation of joint educational programmes, including those leading to dual degrees in economics, management and geology (at Master’s level). The partners from Uzbekistan also proposed the participation of KIEI faculty in additional professional programmes offered by KubSU to improve their qualifications and retrain professional staff, as well as in student mobility programmes, including summer/winter schools.
It should be noted that this was the second visit by representatives from KIEI to KubSU, which allowed for a review of partnership cooperation since 2018 and the coordination of a roadmap for activities in 2023-2024. The visit will be continued with their participation in the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference on Economics dedicated to the memory of the famous scientist and prominent organizer of economic science in Central Asia and Southern Russia, Doctor of Economics, Professor A.F. Sidorov, titled «The Phenomenon of Market Economy: From Origins to Modern Times. Transformation of Economic Systems in the Context of Turbulent Development.»
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Alexander Sidorov, who became the founder of the economic scientific school in Karshi, our guests presented a unique gift to the KubSU museum — a portrait of the outstanding scientist (A. Sidorov) woven on a handmade carpet.
