The grand opening of a new sports and recreation complex took place at Kuban State University. This event became a true gift to the university from its distinguished alumnus, Sergey Galitsky, founder of the Magnit retail chain.
KubSU Rector Mikhail Astapov emphasized the significance of the event: “Today is a historic day for our university: something we could hardly have dreamed of has come true”. The new sports and recreation complex, covering about 1,500 square meters, is fully equipped with all necessary facilities, changing rooms, showers, and coaches’ offices.
This is not the first time Sergey Galitsky has supported his alma mater – in 2022, he donated a beach sports facility to KubSU.
After the opening ceremony, the university’s handball team, led by world champion Svetlana Rozintseva, gave a demonstration game. Students who had the opportunity to explore the new complex shared their admiration and pride in their university.
