KubSU is the organiser of the Russian Geographical Society internship for young scientists and students from Serbia

From April 21 to April 30, an international internship of the Russian Geographical Society will take place in the Krasnodar Region and the Republic of Adygea. The participants of the project are representatives of the RGS Center in Serbia, as well as young scientists and students from Serbia. The project is being implemented by the Institute of Geography, Geology, Tourism and Service of Kuban State University with the support of the NGO «Russian Geographical Society».

The international internship is aimed at strengthening historical ties, expanding ideas about the geographical, cultural, including ethnographic diversity of the Russian Federation. The interaction of young people will contribute to the development of bilateral interest, will become the basis of friendly relations in the future and will form an attractive image of the Russian Federation in general and the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea in particular. The implementation of the project will lead to an expansion of cooperation in the field of student exchanges, and will allow establishing scientific ties. All this is more relevant than ever in the new geopolitical and geo-economic conditions, when our country is being «demonised» by Western civilization in every possible way and its historical, cultural, ethnographic and other values are being wiped out from everywhere.

The main goal of the project is to develop international scientific cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Serbia in order to create a positive image of Russia in general and the Krasnodar Region in particular in the international arena. The participants of the Serbian delegation broadened their understanding of the geographical, cultural and ethnographic diversity of Russia through acquaintance with new subjects of the Russian Federation, exchange of professional experience, scientific research, publication materials and experience in the activities of the Russian Geographical Society.

Winners of the competition will study physical, economic, geographical, cultural, historical and ethnographic features of Krasnodar region and Adygea Republic, visit tourist, historical, cultural, industrial and other objects of regional level. The program also includes thematic lectures, a project school, seminars and master classes where boys and girls will work with leading experts in the field of geography. In addition, an extensive excursion program has been prepared for the participants, which includes visits to natural and historical monuments, tourist attractions in various towns of the region.

The Institute of Geography, Geology, Tourism and Service has developed an extensive program within the framework of an international internship, which is planned to be implemented in the mountain and Black Sea cluster of Sochi, Krasnodar, Maykop, Kamennomostsky settlement, S. Abrau Durso, Nebug settlement.

The Serbian delegation will be familiarised with the natural, historical, cultural and ethnographic heritage of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea. On the premises of Kuban State University, a number of events will be held aimed at expanding cooperation in the field of international projects between RGS MC and the RGS Centre in the Republic of Serbia. One of the important events will be the laying of the «Russian-Serbian Friendship Avenue» on the territory of Kuban State University with the support of the ornamental plant nursery «Rozovy Sad».

Head of the ARGO Youth Club based at KubSU, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geography, Geology, Tourism and Service Tatyana Volkova:
