KubSU scientists discuss the issues of languages and cultures at an international conference

On April 17, Kuban State University hosted the VII International Scientific and Practical Philological Conference entitled «Language, Society, Culture». The event was opened by Veronika Katermina, the Deputy Dean for Scientific Work of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology; Galina Redko, the Head of the Department of Modern Greek Philology; and Evgeniia Rotai, the Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department.

Lecturers and postgraduates of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Athens, Greece), V. I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University (Simferopol), Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Moscow), the Krasnodar branch of the Russian University of Economics made presentations at the conference. G.V. Plekhanova, members of the Union of Journalists of Russia and the Union of the International Federation of Journalists, teachers from secondary schools in Krasnodar. Kuban State University was represented by students and teachers from the Department of Modern Greek Philology, the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, the Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations and the Faculty of Journalism.

The conference was divided into three sections: «Problems of Modern Linguistic, Linguistic-Cultural and Linguistic-Cognitive Research», «Linguistic Methodological Foundations of Foreign Language Teaching», «Problems of the Study of Classical and Modern Foreign Literature, History, Philosophy, Archaeology».

The conference was a great success, and the participants expressed their desire to hold similar meetings in the future.
