In order to fulfill the government quota for citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan studying in the Russian Federation, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan organized qualifying tests for Uzbekistan citizens who planned to continue their education in Russian universities. These tests took place from April 5 to April 8 in Tashkent.
The selection committees for various clusters included employees from the Russian Embassy, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from relevant ministries and departments of both countries and 19 universities in the Russian Federation, including KubSU. Representing our university were the Vice-Rector for Pre-university and Further Professional Education, Semyon Kustov, and the Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology, Viktor Dotsenko. This year, the quota for citizens of Uzbekistan amounted to 800 budget places.
On the evening of April 5, a working meeting was held between representatives of the central office of Rossotrudnichestvo and the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mikhail Vozhdaev. The criteria for the selection of participants and the technical aspects of the interviews were discussed during the meeting.
The next day, on April 6, face-to-face qualifying tests were conducted from 8:30 to 19:30 for citizens applying for master’s degrees, residency and postgraduate studies, as well as for bachelor’s degrees and specialized creative training. All candidates were divided into clusters based on their chosen field of study: technical, humanitarian, biomedical, or creative. Representatives from KubSU, along with representatives from other universities in Russia, participated in the evaluation process for biomedical and technical fields.
On April 7, the tests continued in a remote format for citizens of Uzbekistan who were outside the country or in distant areas of the republic. On the reserve day, April 8, a meeting of the joint commission, which included representatives from Kuban State University, was held in an online format.
In the evening of the same day, the KubSU staff visited the Russian Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, where they met with over 40 students from Russian schools in Tashkent, as well as representatives of the Russian Cultural Center and the Russian diaspora in Uzbekistan. Semyon Kustov provided information to the students about Kuban State University, the forms and features of admission in 2023, while Viktor Dotsenko spoke about the unique features of studying at the Faculty of Chemistry and High Technologies, ongoing scientific projects at the faculty, and the achievements of the students.
