On May 2-3, a delegation of Kuban State University headed by Rector Mikhail Astapov, as well as Director of the Department of International Affairs Galina Govorova and Acting Dean of the Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations Alexander Yevtushenko visited educational institutions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the Modern Elite Al-Nuhba School, King Faisal University, as well as the National Industrial Institute in El-Hasa.
The main purpose of the visit of the KubSU representatives to Saudi Arabia was to establish and develop effective mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education and promotion of the Russian Language and Culture.
During the visit, the Agreement on cooperation between KubSU and the Modern Elite Al-Nuhba School (hereinafter — School) was signed; that was greatly facilitated by university graduates Ahmed Alkhalum and Khaled Alkhalum, currently working at the School.
The subject of the Agreement is a mutually beneficial collaboration in arranging the teaching of Russian as a foreign language to students of the Al-Nuhba School by involving the KubSU teachers, graduate students and senior students of the Faculty of Philology in educational process. For the University it means attracting foreign applicants to study and promoting the brand of Russian education abroad, etc. The meeting ended with the grand opening of classes and the Russian Language club, also the day of May 2 was proclaimed the Day of the Russian Language at the Al-Nuhba School.
The visit and establishment of communication with King Faisal University – one of the most prestigious public higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia and the National Industrial Institute, which trains national personnel for the world’s richest oil company Aramco was also much valuable.
