The KubSU International Students Win the Russian Language Olympiad

On June 14th, the city Russian Language Olympiad took place among international students of Krasnodar’s universities. It was organized by the Internal Policy Department of the Krasnodar city administration in tandem with the municipal state organization “Public Information Center of the City of Krasnodar”.

6 teams took part in the Olympiad. Kuban State University student team took first place, winning each of the competitions: proficiency in Russian and knowledge of Krasnodar sights, as well as the contest of creative performances on the topic “Russia is in our heart”. The winning team included students from Russia’s neighboring countries: Permikul Khasanov (Faculty of Philology) and Myaliksha Kuliev  (Faculty of Economics) from Turkmenistan, Liana Shirvanyan (Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations) from Uzbekistan, Anna Woropayeva (Faculty of Economics) and Yelena Woropayeva (Faculty of Philology) from Azerbaijan, Polina Serpova (Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations) from Kazakhstan and Sanjar Khairulayev (Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences) from Tajikistan. The team was led by Lusine Gyulumyan, professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.

For over 20 years, KubSU has been organizing the city Russian Language Olympiads among international students of Krasnodar’s universities. This experience has allowed our participants to achieve great results. We congratulate the KubSU team for their admirable performance and the joy they have brought us!
