KubSU develops cooperation with a University of Saudi Arabia

On June 7, an online meeting of representatives of Kuban State University and King Faisal University took place. The discussion of prospects for joint work became possible thanks to the visit of a delegation from Kuban State University headed by Rector Mikhail Astapov to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May of this year.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish contacts and discuss promising areas for the implementation of joint projects in the field of higher education. Mikhail Sharafan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Kuban State University, delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of developing and strengthening cooperation between Russian universities and universities of Saudi Arabia, and also presented the main scientific schools and areas of the University. The meeting was moderated by Galina Govorova, Director of International Affairs Department at Kuban State University.

Majid Al-Shammari, Vice-President for Postgraduate Education and Research, welcomed conference participants on behalf of King Faisal University. He said that King Faisal University cooperated with partners from Europe, the United States and Australia, but they do not have partners in the Russian Federation, so it is very important for King Faisal University to start such interaction with Russian universities.  

Representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and High Technologies, Faculty of Economics and Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics at Kuban State University discussed with colleagues’ prospects for cooperation in the development and implementation of joint research and educational programs and projects.

Colleagues from King Faisal University demonstrated a presentation about their university and confirmed their interest in the scientific research presented by scientists from Kuban State University.

The parties also discussed possible interaction in the field of dissemination of Russian and Arabic languages, exchanges of teachers and students, including quota of the Government of the Russian Federation for training foreign citizens.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on exchanging presentations, informational materials and specific proposals for implementing events in the field of education, science and culture.
