On May 9, the International Scientific Conference “Text — Discourse — Culture” began its work at Kuban State University, organised by the Department of German Philology of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology along with the Faculty of German Language of Minsk State Linguistic University.
The theme of the conference was determined by the study of various aspects of the category of time in language: temporality in synchrony and diachrony, time as a linguacultural concept, features of translation of artistic texts taking into account the temporal aspect, category of time in classical and modern literature, in neologisms and phraseology of Russian, Abkhazian, German and English languages. The international conference was opened by Mikhail Sharafan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Kuban State University, who noted the importance of international scientific contacts in the field of language and literature research. On behalf of the partner university, Olga Luschinskaya, Vice-Rector for Research at Minsk State Linguistic University, greeted everyone present, wishing productive work to the conference participants and indicating interest in further cooperation. Marina Oleinik, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Acting Head of the Department of German Philology at Kuban State University, talked about the history of relations between the Faculty of Humanities and leading specialists in linguistics.
The conference began in the form of a plenary session, during which the main problems faced by the conference participants were identified. The topical issues of the conference were specified by Olga Luschinskaya, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associated Professor of Pedagogical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research at Minsk State University; Olga Spachil, Associate Professor of the English Philology Department at Kuban State University; and Galina Polenova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Leading Researcher at Taganrog Institute named after A.P. Chekhov (branch) of Rostov State Economic University (RINH), Professor.
The international conference, timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, brought together more than 50 participants from 19 universities in the Russian Federation, as well as colleagues representing universities in Belarus, Abkhazia, Germany and France. Their reports were presented within four sections by 14 doctors of sciences, 32 Associate Professors of sciences, teachers and PhD students starting their scientific journey.
The conference will take place on May 19 and 20, which will allow participants to establish new professional contacts and share new ideas for further research. A worthy performance and wonderful emotions were given!
