The Faculty of Management and Psychology is a nationally recognised management education centre and the largest in Southern Russia. The quality of education is proven by our 30-year history and more than 10,000 graduates.
The Faculty was founded in 1992 in response to the demand and need of public authorities and local government bodies for the training of new-format highly qualified specialists for the system of regional management, local government bodies, state and municipal institutions, business, mass media.
For thirty years the Faculty has been building a team of specialists — managers, psychologists, political scientists, conflictologists, documentologists, specialists in social and youth policy, who have experience in scientific and practical activities, expert work in management and business structures, methodological support of key personnel projects of the region and who transfer their experience to new generations of managers.
The structure of the Faculty includes 9 departments, which train specialists in the field of social management for 8 programmes of Bachelor’s degree, 8 programmes of Master’s degree, 4 programmes of postgraduate studies.
About 30 doctors and 80 candidates of science work with students. Two thirds of them are practitioners and consultants. There are 22 full-time employees of state and municipal authorities, business organisations and consulting companies, which are potential employers of our graduates.

Kolba), which is carried out under the governmental order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The Department of Political Science and Political Management organises the annual All-Russia conference «Stolypin Readings».

In 2017-2022, the Department held a number of scientific events at the international and all-Russian levels.
Under the guidance of leading scientists, a number of research projects were implemented, which received financial support from Russian research funds:

- Grant of the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists — doctors of science «Territories of traditional nature use and support zones of Arctic development: mechanisms of interaction of indigenous peoples, state and business» (Supervisor V.V. Gassiy) (2019-2020);
- RFBR project «Innovative mechanisms for the development of the market of environmental goods and services on the principles of «green economy» in the Russian Federation» (2019-2021).
The staff of the Department carry out a series of researches on the development of strategic planning technology and the practice of its application by public administrations. The following was carried out in 2019-2020:
- RFBR grant No. 18-410-230020/18 «Inter-sectoral links in a multi-level system of rural development management»;
- together with the Leontyev Centre (St. Petersburg), scientists of the Department participated in the development of the Strategy of long-term socio-economic development of Krasnodar region (state contract No. 01-OK-2016), subcontract «Main areas, goals, objectives and mechanisms of development of economic zones of the Krasnodar region»;
- municipal contracts for the development of municipal strategies for a number of municipalities in the region.
Within the framework of the scientific direction, an international scientific and practical conference EMLE was organised together with Hainan University (China), and annual conferences «Current problems of strategic management of territorial development» and «Institutes of local democracy in the management of sustainable development of local territories» were held.

Since 2009 the Department has been organising an annual international conference on the development of the economy and the knowledge society.

The Department consists of three professors, eight associate professors, three senior lecturers, one lecturer and one assistant.
Since the establishment of the Department, 1 doctoral thesis and 20 candidate’s theses in Psychology, 1 candidate’s thesis in Sociology have been defended by its members or under their supervision.

The Scientific School of Public Policy and Administration, headed by E. Morozova, was established on the basis of the Department.

- Development of a theoretical model revealing the nature and peculiarities of public space;
- Proposal of a conceptual model of multilevel political management of conflicts;
- Theoretical substantiation of the model of political institutionalisation of social networks;
- Identification and characterisation of institutional and procedural features of public policy making;
- The potential of the intangible resources of rural development policy has been identified on the basis of conceptual developments and empirical research;
- The development of an explanatory model of the subjective space of youth policy has been the subject of research;
- At the level of empirical data, typical social profiles of Russian youth were identified and described.
The researchers of the department are part of the scientific school «Public Policy and Administration» under the direction of E. Morozova. The following main scientific results have been achieved:
- Development of the concept of the political world view as a field of research of the subjective space of politics;
- Institutional characteristics of regional and local public policy development were revealed;
- Institutional and procedural characteristics of public policy development were identified and characterised;
- The explanatory model of the subjective space of youth policy was developed;
- Typical social profiles of Russian youth are identified and described at the level of empirical data.
The Department is the basic department of the Southern Scientific Centre of the RAS, which conducts research on the potential for conflict and the conflictological expertise of the socio-political processes in the region in the context of regional security.
On the basis of the department the scientific school «Kuban school of local community development» was formed. The problems of local development are considered not from the point of view of the division of powers between levels of authority, but from the perspective of the interests of people living in local socio-economic systems and united by the common interests of living in certain areas, i.e. local communities.

Scientists of the department carry out research work within the framework of the established «Kuban school of local community development». The purpose of this school is to develop scientific knowledge in the sphere of life of local communities and on this basis to form the scientific potential of planning and management of territorial development, as well as to stimulate the department and the scientific community of Kuban State University to organize and conduct research work on problems of municipal and regional social and economic development, consulting and scientific methodological support of practical work of the State
