Following the concept of continuous multistage vocational education, in 2004 Kuban State University became the first in the region to start secondary vocational education programmes.
The Institute of S econdary Vocational Education is an integral part of the educational, scientific and industrial complex of Kuban State University.
Every year about 900 applicants become students of the Institute. Some of them are foreign citizens.
About 8,500 specialists with higher vocational education graduated from the university over the years. More than 60% of its graduates went on to higher education at Kuban State University and other higher education institutions.
Today there are 2,800 students studying at the institute in 10 specialities. The choice of specialisations is determined by the region’s demand for personnel and the requirements of the applicants. A total of 228 teachers are involved in the educational programmes: full-time teachers of the Institute, faculty members of Kuban State University, as well as invited specialists from companies, which are potential employers. Among them there is 1 doctor of science, 55 candidates of science. 14 teachers have honorary titles and are members of professional associations. Teachers of the Institute are engaged in scientific research, methodical work and active involvement of students.
Students of the Institute actively participate in the extracurricular life of the university: they take part in the creative studios of the Youth Leisure Centre, in sports sections, become winners of university, inter-university, regional, Russian and international contests and competitions.

The development of the recreational potential of the Western Caucasus and the Black Sea coast, the growing needs of the regional labour market, the economic structure of the region and the significant growth of the construction industry increase the demand for specialists in geodesy and land management.

- Geodesy with the basics of cartography and cartographic drawing;
- Geodetic measurements for the determination of coordinates and heights of geodetic network points and special networks;

Students will learn how to carry out geodesic support for the construction and operation of buildings and engineering structures, as well as for surveying.

After completing their studies, graduates of the specialisation 21.02.19 “Land management” are employed in the following fields:

Kuban State University is the only educational institution in the region providing training in a unique 35.02.13 vocational programme «Beekeeping», promising for the agrarian area of the Southern Russian Federation.
The activity of the beekeeping technician is focused on breeding and keeping bee families in the ecological conditions of the South of Russia.
