KubSU expands scientific and educational cooperation with a university from the Republic of Belarus

Development of cooperation with universities of the Republic of Belarus is a priority direction of international activity of Kuban State University. At the moment there are 9 educational and scientific organizations from Belarus among the partners of Kuban State University.

In June last year Kuban State University signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Belarus State Economic University (BSEU). The KubSU delegation held negotiations on establishing cooperation during participation in the XXIX International Specialized ICT Forum TIBO-2023 in April. The second Agreement with BSEU — on academic exchange of students — was signed in December.

Several joint projects have been implemented in the past period.

Online meetings with the KubSU faculties’ management were organized. Employees of the Belarusian university took part in the International scientific-practical conference «Ecosystem of the entrepreneurial university: strategic responses in the era of change», which was held on the basis of KubSU in May 2023. In addition, the professors of BSEU applied for the advanced training program at KubSU within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2024.

In November 2023 Matvey Kurilovich, a 3rd year student of BSEU, underwent a short-term training at the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Computer Technology and Applied Mathematics of Kuban State University. This allowed him to deepen his knowledge in the profile disciplines of his specialty, to master new technologies of mathematical modelling and tools of economic research, to broaden his knowledge and collect materials for a scientific project while working with a scientific advisor from Kuban State University.

In December Igor Shevchenko, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of KubSU, visited the Belarus State University of Economics. He visited the library of BSEU, held working meetings with the management, including the Dean of the Faculty of Digital Economy Tatiana Naletskaya and the Head of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Andrei Sedun. He also gave a series of lectures to the Master’s students of the BSEU Faculty of Digital Economy and held a quiz on entrepreneurship. It is worth noting that the Belarus university fully paid for Igor Viktorovich’s flight and accommodation.

In February 2024 the first four students of the Faculty of Economics of KubSU were sent to study at a Belarusian university within the framework of the Agreement on Academic Exchange of Students. 3rd year students Anastasia Levchenko, Yana Usmanova, Olga Grigorash and Nikita Kalnichenko will study in Minsk for a semester.

On February 14, 2024 Olga Morozevich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of BSEU, met with students from Krasnodar. The meeting was also attended by Elena Petrichenko, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Vladimir Berezovsky, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Economics, and Tatiana Naletskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Economy. The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, the students shared their first impressions of their stay at BSEU, discussed current issues related to the organization of their studies and everyday life.

The plans to develop cooperation with Belarusian State Economic University include the development of a joint educational program, faculty exchanges, and joint events within the framework of youth cooperation between the two countries.
