On April 17, Kuban State University held a roundtable entitled «Preserving the Historical Memory of the Peoples of Russia and Cuba,» which was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory in Playa Girón. The event was held in a hybrid format.
The event was organized by the Faculty of History, Sociology, and International Relations at KubSU and the University of Holguín (Republic of Cuba).
The event was opened by Inna Miroshnichenko, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Affairs at KubSU, and Alexander Evtushenko, Dean of the Faculty of History, Sociology, and International Relations.
During the roundtable, Russian and Cuban scholars presented their reports, and there was a discussion about the importance of historical memory and the importance of working together to prevent attempts to rewrite the history of World War II and other events of the 20th century.
