From April 18 to 21, Kuban State University participated in the XXIX International Specialized ICT TIBO-2023 Forum held in Minsk, Belarus. The delegation from KubSU included Elena Stroganova, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation, Evgeniya Rotai, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department, and Rostislav Peredriy, a second-year student at the Faculty of Physics and Technology. The specialized exhibition showcased the developments of KubSU students from the Faculty of Physics and Technology, including an automatic camera targeting system for search tags and an automatic control system for turning the conductor on an overhead crane.
The TIBO Forum was attended by major manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, hardware and software, mobile network operators, developers, and suppliers of high-tech products. The participants of the TIBO Forum also included representatives of government bodies, professional and business associations, research and educational institutions, and mass media. Among the Russian universities, Kuban State University and Southwest State University were represented.
During the visit to the Republic of Belarus, the KubSU delegation also visited their partner university, the Belarusian State Technological University, to discuss expanding areas of cooperation, including joint educational and research programs, and student and staff internships.
At the International State Ecological Institute named after A. Sakharov at BSU, the Belarusian colleagues introduced the guests to laboratories and equipment. Additionally, a KubSU student conducted a presentation of scientific projects for Belarusian students as part of the visit to the A. Sakharov Institute.
Cooperation with the A. Sakharov International State Ecological Institute is actively developing. For example, KubSU students have been participating in international Olympiads for several years, and this year they achieved the overall third place in the 12th International Environmental Olympiad of CIS universities. The Olympiad involved 46 teams from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. In April 2023, the scientific-practical conference «Tourist-Recreational Complex in the System of Regional Development» was held, co-organized by a Belarusian university. Sergey Bolotin, the Head of the Department of Geoecology and Nature Management at KubSU, was invited to the opening and gave a speech at the Plenary Session of the 23rd International Scientific Conference «Sakharov Readings: Environmental Problems of the XXI Century,» which will take place in Minsk from May 18 to 19, 2023.
In addition, the visit included negotiations with potential partners of KubSU, including the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the Belarusian State Academy of Communications, the Belarusian State Economic University, and others. Plans are underway to conclude cooperation agreements, create joint educational programs, and organize scientific events. Online meetings are scheduled for early May to discuss the planned initiatives in detail.
The development of cooperation with universities in the Republic of Belarus is a priority direction of international activities for KubSU. In April, KubSU students participated in the IX Eurasian Student Olympiad in Analytical Economics and Forecasting organized by the Belarusian State University. The employees of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics are participating in the international conference «Current Problems of Source Studies» held by Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov from April 27 to 29. Vitebsk University also co-organized an online art competition for illustrations initiated by Faculty of Art and Graphics of KubSU. The Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of Kuban State University, together with the German Language Faculty of Minsk State Linguistic University, plans to hold a joint scientific-practical conference «TEXT, DISCOURSE & CULTURE» in May.
